The Deans and Directors under the Academic Affairs Vice President Office presented their six-month performance report for the 2016 E.C. at the Tertiary Care Campus, College of Medicine and Health Sciences-Wollo University.

In a welcome speech, Dr Awol Seid, Academic Affaris Vice President, Wollo University expressed his happiness for the commitment of all deans, directors and academic staff for their unwavering support of the university’s vision to become one of Ethiopia’s best applied universities within the next few years.
Dr Awol also appreciated the commitment of the university for all the effort during the last two years to realize the tertiary care campus. The Acadamic Affaris Vice President also noted that conducting today’s performance report at the New Campus Continuous and Professional Development (CPD) Center is a historical event.
After the welcoming speech was delivered, College/Institute/Solo School Deans and Directors under the Academic Affairs Vice President presented performance report focused on major activities implemented during the last six months of this fiscal year.
The report focused on the progress of the peaceful teaching-learning process, efforts made to maintain the quality of education, preparation for the exit exam, program audit and accreditation, HEMIS data management, laboratory organization and management, renovation of skill labs and accreditation, enhancement of industry linkage for the implementation of an externship and an internship programs, the status of practical education of students in industry sectors/health facilities/legal and business institutions, facilitation and implementation of MOU with relevant national and international partners, ensure postgraduate program sustainability, pursue tracer study and other activities. The report also pointed out the challenges faced and opportunities at hand within the three campuses of the university.
After all deans and academic directors presented their office reports, a discussion was held based on questions raised by participants. Dr Awol addressed the questions by expressing appreciation for the amazing progress that has been made to rebuild the university. The meeting concluded with homework assignments for consideration of areas needing further improvement to work toward realizing the goal of developing Wollo University into one of Ethiopia’s best applied universities.
