Wollo University Enhances Capacity Building Training on Grant Hunting and Scientific Writing
Wollo University, Tertiary Care Campus, delivered a comprehensive training program focused on grant hunting and scientific writing for academic staff of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The training aimed to equip 53 senior faculty members with the essential skills to secure international research grants and publish their findings in reputable journals.
Dr. Agumas Shibabaw, Corporate Director of Research and Community Service at the Tertiary Car Campus, emphasized the program’s role in bolstering the university’s research capacity. The Special Advisor to the Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer at Wollo University, Dr. Seid Hussein, also highlighted the program’s potential to enhance researchers’ competitiveness in the global academic arena in his opening speech.
Expert-led sessions were delivered by Professor Ephrem Engidawork, a distinguished lecturer and researcher in Addis Ababa University and the Board member of Wollo University. Professor Ephrem, known for his extensive experience in research and publication, particularly in the field of pharmacology, shared valuable insights on navigating the complexities of international grant applications and journal submissions.
The training was concluded with remarks from Dr. Metadel Adane, Chief Executive Director of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, who urged participants to apply their newly acquired skills collaboratively.
Dr. Hawa Wolie, Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer at Wollo University, delivered the closing address, encouraging researchers to maintain perseverance in their pursuit of research funding.
