Wollo University magnificently participated in the 2025 Food System Innovation Challenge hosted by Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands.
In this participation, WU represented by two teams: “Pumpkin-Aid/Pumpkin-Power” and “Mushroom: Organic, Mysteries, and Golden Food.”
This prestigious global competition attracted innovative food system solutions from around the world. In this highly competitive global event, the Pumpkin-Aid/Pumpkin-Power team achieved an outstanding milestone by ranking among the top three winners.
In recognition of this superb achievement and its contribution to enhancing Wollo University’s international visibility, the university management, led by Dr. Awol Seid, president of the university, honored both teams along with their coordinator, Dr. Seid Hussen, and advisor, Dr. Ayalew Kassahun.
Moreover, the President also acknowledges Wollo University community who were involved in the journey towards this remarkable achievement.
Finally, Dr. Awol emphasized the need to scale up the Pumpkin-Aid project, highlighting its significant nutritional value and potential for broader community impact.
