Wollo University (WU) proudly celebrates Team Pumpkin Aid (Pumpkin Power) for securing a spot among the top three winners in a highly competitive Food System Innovation Challenge organized by Wageningen University & Research (WUR). The grand final took place today, 30 September 2025, at WUR in the Netherlands, bringing together 24 dynamic teams from 12 international universities.
This remarkable achievement is a milestone for Wollo University, a University of Applied Sciences committed to tackling local and national food and nutrition security challenges while driving sustainable development through innovation.
We extend our sincere gratitude to WUR for creating this global platform that empowers youth to turn bold ideas into practical solutions and nurtures an entrepreneurial mindset for a better food future.
A special salute goes to Team Pumpkin Aid, represented by Lielet Belete, along with Coordinator Dr. Seid Hussen Muhie, Mentor Yawkal Tsega, Advisor Dr. Ayalew Kassahun, the jury members at WU, the University management, the Directorate of Community Service, and everyone who supported the journey in one way or another.
We also celebrate Team Mushroom, who delivered an inspiring speech and shared valuable experiences during the event.
