The department of agricultural economics was established in 2011 under the college of agriculture. Following the implementation of business process re-engineering (BPR) in the university in 2009, the department became a separate entity based in the main campus. Currently, the department offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the regular classes. Noting the rapidly changing economic, political and social environments locally and globally, the department cooperates with other departments of the university through offering common courses. Within the university-wide goals, the department of agricultural economics has the following mission, vision and goals.
